Pay your fines online.

New Credit Check of Fines initiative

From 13 February 2012, if you have overdue fines or reparation this information may be included as part of a credit check about you. This may result in you being declined credit and stop you from getting the things you want. To avoid this happening, pay your fines now.

For more information, read the Common Questions page.

Applying for time to pay your fine

If you are unable to pay your fine all at once or need more time to pay call 0800 4 FINES and talk to a Deputy Registrar.

We may be able to extend the due date or offer you a payment plan (to break the fine into smaller payments).  If you choose this option, we may ask you for financial information to make sure there’s a genuine need to grant you further time to pay.

There are several ways you can pay a fine off over time.  You may be able to:

  • Pay directly from your wages or benefit
  • Pay by automatic payment from your bank account
  • Make fixed regular payments over the counter at a District Court, PostShop or Westpac Bank.

All time to pay arrangements must be agreed with the Court.

If any scheduled payment is missed, or payment stops early, payment can be enforced by the court.  This results in an enforcement fee being added to each fine. From 1 October 2010 this fine is $102.22.

If you are having trouble meeting your payment obligations, or know you are going to miss a payment call us on 0800 4 FINES first to discuss your situation.  Don’t wait for the Court to come to you.
