Hearing Process
Overview of the hearing process at the Tenancy Tribunal.
If mediation fails or is not used, the next step is a hearing before a tenancy adjudicator. Although hearings are nearly always held in a District Court, the Tribunal is not as formal as a court hearing. Hearings are open to the public.
Before the hearing
You will receive a written notice telling you when and where the hearing will take place. You'll get at least four working days' notice of the Tribunal hearing date. More information about before the hearing.
At the hearing
On the day of the hearing, you need to arrive before the start time so you can get organised. More information about the hearing.
After the hearing
Both parties are required to complete any tasks required of them in the Tenancy Tribunal's order. More information about after the hearing.
